We are proud to announce that our Academy Program has officially launched and you may now qualify to participate in our LEVEL I session.

WHAT IS IT? 

The Academy at WCPB – LEVEL I is a curated program designed to take players straight from our Introduction to Pickleball and teach them the basics of pickleball and help them with muscle memory, stroke mechanics, rules of the court and game, and most of all, getting their serves and returns consistent.  Without these basics, players get stuck, unable to move past the first 3 shots of a game, and never really learn to play pickleball.  

LEVEL I is all about repetitive strokes, consistency, eye-hand coordination, and movement.  We will be drilling non-stop for 70 minutes after a dynamic warm-up to prepare you for the class.

Instructors will create a weekly custom program designed to continue your education in these skills and hone your proficiency to set you up for success for your test.  Yes, you will be required to test to move into the LEVEL II program.

A test date will be scheduled at a date to be determined.

Who Qualifies to Participate

Anyone ready to level up after taking the Introduction to Pickleball class or attending guided play or BOOP, but not yet had any lessons. 

For those of you who have already participated in our previous program Beginner 2.0, you may request to by-pass Level I.  Not all requests will be approved. If your request is denied, you will have 2 options: 

• (1) Take the LEVEL I test ($30 fee) and pass; or
• (2) Enroll in Level I and pass the test

Class Dates & Times:

Beginning September 8^th , classes will commence and continue every Sunday at 11:15am-12:45pm.

Classes will run consecutively and rotate the curriculum every 2-3 Sundays so that participants can be sure to get enough time to drill on the skills required to test and move up to Level II.

Requirement to Test

Six (6) Level I Classes completed within 8 Weeks using virtual punch card.  Punch card expires 10 weeks from date of purchase.

One (1) Drilling Session with Glenn on the Ernie Ball Machine to be completed within 8 weeks from purchase date.

Requirement to Pass

80% on Oral Exam

Practical:  Dinking consistency / 80% accuracy on Serves / Movement Drill (Ladder)

Practical:  10-minute game utilizing partner communication; serves; returns; dinks; movement

Upon Passing, Students will receive a Certificate of Completion and an invitation to participate in the Level II Academy program.

The fee for this course is $325, which includes 6 classes and 1 drilling session on the Ernie with Coach Glenn. 

Your fee will give you access to a virtual punch card to be used when you check in for class.  When your punches are completed (7 in total), you will be eligible to test.  Testing fee is $30, paid at the time of testing.
